YouTube has promised to fix an annoying iPhone and iPad battery bug that is draining the charge of users' devices. One user recently took to Twitter to complain after YouTube's app appeared to sap as much as 20 per cent of their device's battery life in half an hour

Is iPhone suddenly hit with battery drain issues?

If your iPhone has suddenly been hit with battery drain issues, this is why Scores of users have taken to social media to complain their iPhone has suddenly started overheating and that the battery is draining rapidly.

The cause of the battery drain seems to be the YouTube app for users running iOS 11 on iPhone and iPad.

Users have reported their devices suddenly getting very warm when watching videos and their battery draining quickly even when the YouTube app is only open in the background.

One user reported that the YouTube app used more than one hours worth of background activity despite only watching a 5 minute video throughout the day.

Other users claim their battery is being drained by as much as 20 percent from watching just 10 minutes of video. This means that a fully charged battery would drain completely from watching less than one hour of video using the YouTube app.

Google: We're Still Making Changes To Penguin & Panda Algorithms

Eric Kuan from Google on stage with Gary Illyes and Nathan Johns from Google at PubCon said that Google is still making changes to both the Panda and Penguin algorithms. Just a month ago we reported that Google occasionally tweaks the Penguin algorithm but for the most part it is on autopilot. Eric has been with Google for over 6 years, so he is not a new kid. We have to imagine Google does make tweaks to most of their algorithms when necessary and for Eric to say Google does do this as well to Penguin and Panda should come as no surprise. The only big issue is, if one of those tweaks impacts your site and Google doesn't confirm when they have tweaked these algorithms, it is hard for SEOs and webmasters to debug this information.
